Beginning Botany: A Guided Study is a companion guide to The First Book of Plants by Alice Dickinson and The First Book of Trees by M. B. Cormack [Living Book Press]. Students will read as well as learn through hands-on experiments, object lessons and demonstrations about plants -including parts of the plant and their functions, flowers, fungi, algae and more as well as about trees -including parts of the tree and their functions and different types of trees such as oak, birch, pine, spruce and more. 

 

This guide includes a printable supply list, reading schedule, pre-reading notes, narration prompts, additional reading suggestions, experiments, object lessons, demonstrations, exam prompts and more. 

 

Ages 9-14; This guide was created for Years 5 & 6 and will be included in the Program guides for Lower School A. It is designed to be flexible so that students slightly younger and older could also use it successfully.
