Selections from Washington Irving: A Reading Guide combines the stories to be read along with the lessons, so no books are needed. This guide includes the text from "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" and "Rip Van Winkle".
 
The lessons in this guide will provide the teacher with the teaching notes needed to prepare the readings, multiple and varied narration suggestions, a light introduction to some literary terms and exam prompts. There are 10 lessons with 6 for "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" and 4 for "Rip Van Winkle". 
 
These lessons are targeted for students ages 9-12. It will be included in 16th-18th Century Lesson Guide -Years 5-6 -once released.
