Program 3 -19th Century History

 

Program Guides will cover 3 Terms or 1 Year. Students will now begin to work through the programs according to historical time period divisions. Program 3 includes history from the 19th Century.

 

For children in Pre-Preparatory, Preparatory or Year One, please see Foundations.

Step 1: Outline Guide

 

Each Program 3 Outline Guide includes the complete book lists, poems to recite and needed resources for its level. Teaching notes pertinent to those levels as well as suggestions for art, handcraft and music study are also contained in this guide.

 

Select the outline guide which corresponds to the years you need. If you do not require lesson plans and other supportive resources, then you may complete your purchase after this step.

 

If you would like to add the complete lesson plans to accompany your level, then go on to Step 2.

Step 2: Lesson Guide

 

Program 3 Lesson Guides contain the lessons which accompany each specific year within each level.

Each guide will include pre-reading notes, teaching notes, narration prompts, natural history demonstrations, object lessons, literary technique lessons and much more.

 

Select the lesson guide which corresponds to the level you purchased in Step 1. If you do not require any supportive resources, then you may complete your purchase after this step.

 

If you would like to add supportive resources to accompany your level, then go on to Step 3.

It is assumed that the Outline Guide for Program 3 [depending on the needed level] has already been purchased.

Step 3: Supportive Resources

 

Program 3 supportive resources include some books which have been republished for your convenience as well as Spotlights: Illuminating Great Artists & Musicians, which are mini guides covering an assortment of artists and composers for your study of the arts.

 

Select the supportive resources, such as republished books, which correspond to the level you purchased in Step 1. If you'd like to add any mini guides for your study of the arts, then choose any of these you prefer.

 

Once your choices have been selected and purchased, then you should have all that you need for a complete and thorough program for the year!

Fairy Tales

A Mind in the Light introduces the new Finding Faerie series with two separate volumes of fairy tales.

Spinning Straw: Tales to Elicit Enchantment (Vol. 1) compiles the best versions of fairy tales from Hans Christian Andersen, Andrew Lang and the Brothers Grimm. This volume is used in Foundations Year One.

 

Into the Forest: Enchanted Explorations (Vol. 2) continues the compilation and is used in all of the Lower School B programs.
